Retreat At Muko Petra Langu Satun | Reflecting The Father's Love

By Ianpassion

Whenever we are free we like to come at Muko Petra, Beach Satun, Thailand to refresh. This beach is not far from our home.

My kids always find the sandy beach of Muko Petra enjoyable. While I was playing with them, I was also pondering about good analogies that I could use to illustrate the love of the Father.

The eldest asked me, "Papa, why the waves never stop coming and splashing on the side of the shore?"

"It is its nature, my dear" I replied.

She asked me more, "What is nature?"

"Nature means essence or inherent qualities of something or someone. It is as it is at all times. So if the waves do not come on the shore then it goes against itself." I explained.

I continued:

Similar to my love for you and your brother, it will always go after you. And if I don't love you, then I go against myself, which is actually impossible to happen."

In the Scripture:

"There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends."( John 15:13)

The passage above tells about the higher commitment to a particular relationship. It means if a friend who loves his friend can lay down for him or her, how much more a father who loves his child.

At the moment we gave our lives to Abba, He had not only washed our infirmities or saved us from our condemnation, but He also had adopted us as His children (see John 1:12; Galatians 4:7; Romans 8:2).

I believe we are more than a friend to our Father in Heaven. We are His children. A friend may have a connection or relationship with a father, but only a child bears the DNA of his father and his blood.

If we, fathers captured by genuine love, we should not cease loving our children. It should be proven like how the Son gave His life for us. We must be always willing to lay our lives. This includes our faithfulness, loyalty, and commitment at the expense of our comfort and safety.

We actually deserved death instead of life because of our infirmities (Romans 3;23). But, the Father chose His only Son to be in pain for our gain. The  Son became the atonement sacrifice on behalf of us. Was it because we are good enough? Of course not! It is because He unconditionally loves us and He is not limited by our limitation.

In Lamentation 3:22-23:

Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail, they are new every morning, great is your faithfulness.

Love is the inherent nature of the Father. It is the core of His DNA (Devine Nature of Abba). Consequently, if we are already His child then we have His DNA, so it is also not impossible to LOVE like Him.
