Giving Up Our Livestock Farming

By Ianpassion

Ducks, native chickens, and geese farming is not easy. More than twenty of them are now gone because of disease and attacked by wild cats, cobras, pythons, dogs, and ants

However, in spite of what our farm had gone through, we still believed for the best is yet to come; knowing that everything works together for good and still the Father's wonderful plans prevail.

Ducklings covered with a bamboo basket in the picture above were just three days old. They were nine of them. We moved them out from their coop into this basket because they were attacked by red ants.

These new generations of ducklings are now growing up. They survived after all the heavy bites they got. You can see our kids had lots of fun with our ducklings when we finally moved them back into their coop.

Our eldest (Nana) said, "Papa the little ducks are so cute."
I replied, "Yes they are."
Nana added, "Papa hopefully the ants will not come again"
I said, "I hope so."

Our farm animals are now part of our family. Hearing their loud quacks and honks in the morning is a relief. It means nothing harmed them through the night.

What is encouraging from running this livestock farming is a community that is sharing. Our neighbors were grateful after we had shared our harvest from the farm. As a result, they also shared their harvested vegetables with us. Isn't that wonderful?

I have learned that true happiness is not from receiving but from sharing. And we only become more reaching to others once our hearts are fully captivated by pure LOVE.
