Christmas: Our Father, The Affectionate Good Shepherd

By Ianpassion

The Scripture mentioned that our Almighty Father is our good Shepherd. No one can equate His dedication to the way He loves His sheep. Perhaps you have personally experienced this.  He has vowed to lay His life for you and me (see John 11:10).

He came down from heaven and no human limitation or darkness in this world could discourage Him. He is committed. He could actually redeem us without His incarnation into human flesh (through a birth of a baby Son), but He thought of you and me... how could we experience His affection the most: His joy and felt His love.

What if the Son was not born? It is because of the Son's birth that our streets, buildings, and houses are decorated with colorful lights, bells, Christmas trees. We are rejoicing during the season of Christmas with our friends and families because of the Son's birth. If there is no birth of the Son, perhaps our month of December is dry and nothing to expect or contemplate of.

But because we have a Father, who is our good Shepherd, and who is not only interested in saving or taking us to heaven but also who wants us to experience His joy and healing from heaven while on earth. Hence, He is immanence, personal, and reaching. His love is always available for us and to every culture, and to everyone who comes. He did it so we could feel that He is our affectionate Dad - The Emmanuel.
