Outdoor Adventure of A Busy Father

By Ianpassion

The true story of each person on this planet is not the one you see. However, it is the story of each person's heart journey. - Eldredge, John

As the father of two children (Nana and Nemi), I have always felt a calling to instill the value of family; to model Abba Allmighty's love and His overflowing joy at being with Him.

Retreat At Muko Petra Langu Satun | Reflecting The Father's Love

By Ianpassion

Whenever we are free we like to come at Muko Petra, Beach Satun, Thailand to refresh. This beach is not far from our home.

GPS

My kids always find the sandy beach of Muko Petra enjoyable. While I was playing with them, I was also pondering about good analogies that I could use to illustrate the love of the Father.

Saigon Family Trip 2018 | Reflection

By Ianpassion

Vietnam is one of the countries in Southeast Asia that is very rich in history. Even just in a short period of time,  I got to know more about this country when we were there with my family in October 2018.

What I learned from my history books back in my school days became more imaginative when we finally visted those places that brought us back to the horrible Vietnam war (1955-1975).

I Wish You A Very Merry Christmas

By Ianpassion

Christmas is always the most wonderful season of the year. During this season we have reminded the most significant event in the history of the Basilica that the Transcendence Being took the human flesh in order to reach out to mankind.

That event tells us the commitment of the Father on sharing the family-culture of love that is from heavens to earth. We can now access heaven anytime and whoever is willing can be His sons and daughters and can enjoy the gift of the Father.

Reflection: Train Ride from Hatyai to Hua Lamphong Bangkok

By Ianpassion

Train riding is a wonderful experience, especially for our children to try when visiting Thailand.

In the year 2013, we took the first-class sleeping cabin expecting that we could have a good rest. Nittie that time was pregnant with our first child, Nana. It was not a good decision.

Birthday Reflection: I am Alive and Confident

By Ianpassion
The picture was taken at lighthouse tower Satun, Thailand

It is my birthday again.

I was actually thinking about what I should be thankful for on my birthday. Because I received updates this year about the deaths of our loved ones.

Reflection: Astonishing Satun Geo Park

(Credit: Satun Geopark)

"Will you still go back to Davao?" a friend asked.

I paused for a moment before responding, "Satun is already my home; it is where my heart belongs, and where I believe I will die."

Satun has a lot to offer a person who enjoys wild adventure and a laid-back lifestyle, with its beautiful beaches, amazing waterfalls, green forest, delicious food, diverse culture, and ethnicity.

My Passion Fruit Garden, Satun, Thailand

By Ianpassion

Passion fruit is a vine flower plant. It is actually my first time planting this fruit here in Satun, so seeing this bearing lots of flowers and fruits made me feel relaxed after all the demand of life.

Thanks to my wife who helped me bagging its seedlings. Now, this plant is not only providing fresh vitamin c to us especially to our kids but also giving good shade during the very hot weather in Thailand.

My Reflection On Thai Footballers Trapped In Flooded Cave in Thailand

By Ianpassion

The news of the 13 footballers who had been rescued after stranded 17 days in a flooded cave in the Northernmost part of Thailand overwhelmed us with joy and made me reflect as well the power of three values: Hope, Love, and Passion.

First, the hope that kids were still alive and be found made the search and rescue operation pushing in spite of all the odds, bad weather, flood, darkness, zero visibility, and treacherous route in the cave. Really amazing. It seemed impossible, but when hope overwhelmed doubts everything is viable.

Parenting: I Am Afraid Of Going To School

By Ianpassion

Nowadays our eldest child is acting indifferently towards her schooling. She behaves somehow opposite from last year that seems she enjoyed learning.

During school days (Monday to Friday), just this past few days every morning, after taking her meal, while wearing her uniform, and when she knows she is heading to school,  then she starts crying heavily. She does not want to go.

Fulfilling Your Destiny Matters Who Are With You

By Ianpassion
Photo was taken at the mangroves plantation, Tamalang, Satun, 2017

King Solomon said that one who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Let us remember that we have a destiny. Often it is hard to fulfill this only by ourselves. However, the Father has already arranged for certain people to come along with us.  They believe and speak faith in us.

What If Our Good Is Not Good Enough?

By Ianpassion

I was having my morning Thai coffee and grilled sticky rice while reflecting on our involvement in developing our communities, reaching out to the less fortunate people– the poor and the marginalized.

It is in the nature of us to be good to someone, to a friend, or community that is suffering. However, have we ever asked ourselves: what if our good is not good enough?

What if I have no Reasons to Celebrate Christmas?

By Ianpassion

I do not know what you are going through nowadays. You might be reading this post at the time that you are down and discouraged, struggling with your health, finances, relationship, or maybe you have a patient to care for. Thus, Christmas for you at this time of the year might not be a wonderful season.

However, others may be the opposite. They can shop, buy new things,  eat nice food, and can spend their holiday abroad. They are healthy and wealthy. It looks like they do not have anything to worry about-- no problems to ponder, no debts to take care of, and no relationship issues to settle. It seems they have all the reasons to rejoice in this season of Christmas. However, the truth is, everybody has always something to face and overcome.

5 Things I am Thankful On My Birthday 2017

By Ianpassion

Our existence in this world is analogous to farming. We must wait patiently for the harvest season. In this photo, I'm holding a freshly picked fried vegetable from this uncovered greenhouse. It's harvest time.

Our birthday is a seasonal milestone that allows us to take a quick break to celebrate and reflect on our past experiences, as well as an excellent opportunity to correct what we have done incorrectly in preparation for the new beginning. On my birthday in 2017, there are five things for which I am grateful

How to Experience the Real Freedom?

By Ianpassion
Photo taken at Songkhla, Thailand

Our birth marked a watershed moment in our parents' lives. For the first time, they cuddled us with great love and commitment that they will protect and do everything for us.

We were born free. We treasured the times when our parents provided for us. We needed to live on our own as time passed. We made new friends and searched for a way forward. However, we fell into a trap while looking. We are exploited. As a result, the freedom we once had is now only a dream.

Reflective: Hatyai- Satun Road Trip, South of Thailand

By Ianpassion

Most of the time I travel alone Satun to Hatyai ( or vice versa). On the road may take one and half an hour but if you are commuting, it takes more than two hours considering several stops for refreshment.

One day the weather was cold with a little rain shower. I was speeding from Hatyai back to Satun. I did several stops to see what Hatyai –Satun highway could offer to waken me from my heavy-eyed due to lack of sleep the night before.

Reflective Trip to Songkhla, South of Thailand

By Ianpassion,  breakfast at Songkhla Morning Market, South of Thailand

My wife told me that she had a conference to attend in Songkhla Province, South of Thailand, and then I had to look after our kids. “Ok no problem, I will take care of our children," I said.

Songkhla is two hours’ from Satun.  There is no direct transport from Satun to Songkhla. So you need to commute two times by bus or by van heading to Hatyai, then from there, take a tuk-tuk (a jeepney) or a van to Songkhla.

Celebrating My Birthday 2016 | Hiking

By Ianpassion

The most common way to celebrate our birthday is to have dinner with friends or with family.

I remembered those moments when I was still a child. My parents used to organize a special party for me. Native chickens around our house were always the victims, at least ten slaughtered every birthday event.
